MINUTES
PLAP7NING COMMISSION
Pleasanton Council Chambers
30 West Angela Street
January 12, 1977
8:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at
8:03 P.M., by Chairman Butler.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.
ROLL CALL
Roll Call was as follows: Commissioners Present: Doherty, Jamieson,
Shepherd, Wood and Chairman Butler. Commissioners Absent: None. Staff
Present: Bob Harris, Don Sooby, Harvey Levine, Frank Brandes, Council Liaison,
and Recording Secretary Yvonne McFadden.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Butler pointed out that the minutes of December 8, 1976, incorrectly
reported that a public hearing was held on the Oak Tree Center application.
The Public Hearing had been officially closed at the November 10, meeting.
The minutes should state that "although the public hearing was closed, the
Commissioners agreed to take testimony..." The minutes of the December 8,
1976 meeting were approved as amended.
"AWARD"
At this point, Chairman Butler recognized the "award" presented to the
Planning Commission at the Mayor's Awards Dinner. This award consisted of
a small replica of the "Ice House" on Main Street.
REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA
The following items were continued:
GP-76-6, Thomas K. McManus - to the April 13, 1977 meeting to allow sufficient
time for preparation of the environmental impact report.
UP-76-29, Douglas Huntze, - to the April 13, 1977 meeting to allow sufficient
time for preparation of the environmental impact report.
UP-76-25, Earl Adams and Joseph Madden - continue to February 9, 1977,
pending resolution of the flood insurance requirements by the National Flood
Insurance Agency.
OLD BUSINESS
RZ-76-22, Planning Commission - application to rezone approximately 53 acres
located south of Minnie Street between Sunol Boulevard and the eastern City
Limit line.
This is a continued Public Hearing.
Secretary Harris indicated that the staff is recommending that the property
be rezoned to Planned Unit Development, Medium Density Residential - about
four or five dwelling units per acre. Background on this application was
provided by Mr. Harris.
