RZ-77-2, Planning Commission - application for an amendment to Sections
2-7.20 and 2-7.21 of Article 9, Chapter 2, .Title II of the Ordinance Code
of the City of Pleasanton which would revise the permitted and conditionally
permitted uses in the Industrial Districts.
Secretary Harris provided the background of this ordinance amendment, the
study being initiated by members of the City Council.
In general, the Commissioners had no quarrel with the proposed uses listed,
but they did not feel that manufacture of asbestos should be totally dis-
allowed, providing necessary safeguards could be met.
The Public Hearing was opened, no one spoke, and the Public Hearing was
closed.
Resolution No. 1501 was entered and adopted recommending to the City Council
adoption of the ordinance amendment for certain allowed and conditionally
allowed uses in the I-P and I-G Districts, with the exception to add
manufacture of asbestos... as conditionally allowed in the I-G District.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Jamieson
Seconded: Wood
Ayes: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
RZ-77-3, Planning Commission - application for an amendment to Sec. 2-7.08(a)
of Article 8, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of
Pleasanton which would allow "watchmen's living quarters" as a conditionally
allowed use in the C-S (Commercial Service) District.
Secretary Harris recommended modification of the draft ordinance to add
the word "living" quarters to the amendment.
Discussion ensued regarding precise definition of "living" quarters, if it
would be for one person, or a watchman and his family, or whether a limit
should be imposed on the number of occupants, etc.
The Public Hearing was opened.
D4r. George Canessa, Pleasanton resident, and applicant for a mini-warehouse
facility on Stanley Boulevard, stated that he had been the individual who
had proposed this request, which had initiated the ordinance amendment.
The Public Hearing was closed.
Resolution No. 1502 was entered anal adopted recommending to the City Council
adoption of an ordinance amendment which would conditionally allow "guards'
living quarters" in the C-S District.
-5-
