MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers <br />30 West Angela Street <br />May 18, 1977 <br />8:00 PM <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:35 PM, <br />by Chairman Butler. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler. <br />Commissioners Absent: None. Staff D4embers Present: Robert Harris, Director <br />of Planning; Harvey Levine, Deputy City Attorney; Don Sooby, Director of <br />Engineering Services; Ken Mercer, City Council Liaison; Yvonne McFadden, <br />Secretary. Councilmember Brandes also attended the meeting. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of the April 13, 1977 meeting were corrected on Page 2, to <br />indicate more reference to traffic and fear of safety hazards for children <br />on Guyson Court, as part of the comments expressed by Mr. Tom Shures, 6232 <br />Guyson Court. <br />The correction noted, the minutes of the April 13 and May 3, 1977 meetings <br />were approved as submitted. <br />Commissioner Jamieson raised a question on the alignment of the Del Valle <br />Parkway and what was ultimately approved by the City Council (in reference <br />to Morrison's Creeksbend PUD).It was explained that Council approved <br />the standard parkway design. Deputy City Attorney explained that there was <br />discussion regarding the homeowners on Del Valle Parkway forming a special <br />assessment district at a later time to construct a frontage road. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS - NSW BUSINESS. <br />UP-77-5, Miss Penny s, Inc. - application for a conditional use permit to <br />operate a gymnastics club in the Tennis Town facility located at 7090 Johnson <br />Industrial Drive; zoning for the property is I-G (General Industrial) District. <br />The staff report was explained by Secretary Harris. Regarding Condition <br />No. 4, Secretary Harris indicated that Tennis Town had not complied with <br />all previous conditional use permits granted for their operation. <br />The Public Hearing was opened. <br />Mr. Scott Francis, 339 Laurel Avenue, Hayward, spoke for this application. <br />He felt that this application should not be responsible for the conditions <br />previously imposed on Tennis Town, which they had not complied with. <br />Next, Penny Thomas, 1111 Brookvale, San Leandro, gave a brief description <br />of the services which they offer. <br /> <br />
