The Public Hearing was closed. <br />Resolution No. 1577 was entered and adopted recommending to the City Council <br />adoption of an amendment to the ordinance which would allow waterbed sales <br />and related small accessories as a permitted use in the C-N, C-C and C-R <br />Districts. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Resolution: Shepherd <br />Seconded: Wood <br />Ayes: Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Doherty, Jamieson <br />Abstain: None <br />At the conclusion of the hearing, Councilmember Brandes indicated that <br />at the Council meeting the night before, a request was made for the owner <br />of the waterbed shop to bring his sign into conformance with the balance <br />of those in the center. <br />RZ-77-12, Scenic Highways Ordinance - application to amend Chapter 2, Title <br />II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton by adding Article 33, <br />Scenic Highways Overlay District, to implement Resolution No. 77-30, "A <br />Resolution of the City Council adopting a Scenic Corridor Protection Pro- <br />gram" and to provide for standards and controls for all development within <br />1,000 feet of the right-of-way lines of Interstate Freeways I-580 and I-680. <br />The item was continued to November 9, 1977. <br />RZ-77-11, Planning Commission - application to amend Article 14 (Planned <br />Unit Development) and Article 2 (Definitions) of Chapter 2, Title II of the <br />Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to clarify the processing of PUD <br />applications filed on two or more parcels. <br />This item was continued to November 9, 1977. <br />REFERRALS FROM CITY COUNCIL <br />A. Councilmember Brandes stated that appointed Liaison Member Ken Mercer <br />offered regrets for not being present due to health problems. <br />B. Councilmember Brandes then discussed another item, pertaining to bike <br />trails. He felt that it would be advantageous if the Planning Commission <br />would become involved in review of bike trail locations. <br />The Commissioners agreed, feeling that with traffic becoming more and more <br />important, the Planning Commission is certainly interested in this topic. <br />Councilmember Brandes indicated he would be interested in receiving the Com- <br />mission's recommendations. <br />C. Councilmember Brandes requested active participation of the Commission <br />members at the public hearings on the Residential Allocation Program about <br />to be held before the City Council. <br />Chairman Butler urged the other members to take an active role in the pro- <br />ceedings. <br />-7- <br />
