Mr. Arrigoni was present and provided the Commissioners with his interpre-
tation of the code. He presented photographs of his front yard, describing
the types of material he used. He felt the screening does not detract from
the appearance of his home or from the neighborhood.
Commissioner Shepherd asked for a staff report evaluating the matter.
Commissioner Doherty suggested that it may be in order to check out other
jurisdictions and how they deal with this situation. He was convinced that
landscape architecture can be done tastefully and be an asset to the neigh-
borhood. He thought the staff could check with other persons who are in-
volved in environmental design. He suggested that perhaps Al Dutchover of
the City's Park and Landscape Division, could provide input.
Chairman Butler ascertained from Mr. Arrigoni that his front yard is more
than 23 feet. He asked the staff to give this matter some thought and pre-
sent the Commission with a report of their findings.
Review of request from Frank DiFilippo for joint use of o_ff-street parking
facilities at the Gay 90's Pizza Parlor.
Secretary Harris indicated that the owner of the Gay 90's Pizza Parlor is
requesting permission to build an outdoor patio to be used for daytime
service only. His restaurant is only open at night now and if both the
outdoor patio and theinterior area is used concurrently, he would be short
of parking spaces. The ordinance code has no provision for the joint use
of parking by uses which do not take place at the same time. He is recom-
mending that the code be looked at for possible amendment.
Mr. DiFilippo was present and told the Commissioners how he intended to
operate the business so as to not overlap in the parking use. He touched
upon the possibility of "renting" a portion of the spaces on the Citizens
Savings & Loan land across the street. Secretary Harris indicated that the
study staff makes on this matter will also cover off-site parking
Find Conformity with the General Plan for Conveyance of a Remnant of
Property - Right-of-Way for Stoneridge Drive.
The staff report was described by Secretary Harris. The City wishes to
deed some land to Vorelco, as shown on Parcel "C". Government Code 65402(a)
requires that the Planning Commission take action making the finding of
conformity.
Resolution No. 1621 was entered and adopted making the finding of conformity
in accordance with Government Code 65402(a).
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Shepherd
Seconded: Wood
Ayes: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
-13-
