Mr. Doherty said he recognizes the problems of this piece of property
but that the owner has the right to make a reasonable investment. He
stated he also recognizes the homeowners view. He stated he recognizes
that people who worked on the General Plan looked at this as the logical
extension for the sports and recreation center to expand.
Commissioner Wilson commented that perhaps an exchange of other park
areas for this one might be worth consideration.
Mr. Geppert indicated that he had some problems with the EIR.
Resolution No. 1692 was adopted recommending to the City Council denial
of GP-78-7.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Wilson
Seconded: Geppert
Ayes: Geppert, Wilson and Acting Chairman Doherty
Noes: None
Absent: Getty and Chairman Jamieson
Abstain: None
Because the Commission denied the project, no EIR findings were made.
RZ-77-12, Planning Commission
Application to amend Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the
City of Pleasanton by adding Article 34, "Scenic Highways Overlay
District." The District would provide regulations intended to protect
the scenic qualities of selected City roadways.
Bob Harris explained the staff report and the fact that this Draft
Ordinance would allow City to implement the mandated California State
Law. Mr. Harris explained that if an area was zoned R-1-6500 in a
Scenic Highways Overlay District, it would remain the same but would
have the Overlay imposed on it.
The Public Hearing was opened.
The Public Hearing was closed.
Resolution No. 1693 was adopted recommending approval of RZ-77-12 to
the City Council in accordance with the staff report of September 13,
1978 and the Draft Ordinance 34, attached thereto.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Geppert
Seconded: Wilson
Ayes: Geppert, Wilson and Acting Chairman Doherty
Noes: None
Absent: Getty and Chairman Jamieson
Abstain: None
REFFERALS FROM ALAMEDA COUNTY
There were none.
-10-
