Planning Commission
Page 6
May 9, 1979
Commissioner Jamieson stated he is concerned with protecting the City in the future
and is inclined to recommend the preparation of an EIR. Commissioner Wilson stated
he agrees with this concern. Commissioners Getty and Geppert stated that if a number
of questions and concerns were answered and mitigated, they would not feel an EIR
to be necessary. Commissioner Geppert said he would like to see Lot ~~12 developed
even though it is not part of this proposal and would support a directed EIR to
specific conerns. The Commission indicated they would consider a mitigated negative
declaration at a later date if sufficient information was provided to mitigate
concerns outlined.
UP-79-8, Joe Madden
Application of Joe Madden for a conditional use permit to allow automobile repair
and service and related automobile uses in warehouse structures located at 3701
Old Santa Rita Road. Marsh just south of Sunol Blvd. He stated that in 1966 when the State
was purchasing land for I-680 freeway, they split land owned by William T. Marsh
and that this was done without receiving subdivision approval from the City of Pleasanton
and no parcel map was ever prepared for this subdivision. He stated that Mr. Marsh's
representative, Larry Osborne, is now requesting the Commission consider waiving this
request.
The public hearing was opened.
As no one spoke either for or against this project, the public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Wilson made a motion that all findings required could be made with
regard to this request and moved that a waiver be granted.
