PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES JULY 26, 1979 (continued) <br />There being no further testimony, Chairman Doherty declared the public hearing closed <br />on the application and the negative declaration. <br />Commissioner Geppert asked if there was a zoning classification for "Office". <br />Mr. Harris advised the category designation is for "Commercial and Offices" and <br />that "Office" use could be applied for later. <br />Commissioner Getty asked if a racquet ball establishment would be considered "Office". <br />Mr. Harris advised that it wouldn't and that considering it a PUD might be needed. <br />Commissioner Jamieson expressed concern about the narrowness of the road and the <br />railroad underpass, and stated he felt with the increased traffic that would be <br />generated this would present a hazardous condition. <br />Commissioner Wilson stated he would be opposed to racquet ball courts in this area and <br />felt that office use would be better than industrial use. <br />Commissioner Jamieson asked <br />would generate. He expressed concern regarding landscaping <br />of the property as it will be the first impression from the south entrance of the City. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Geppert and seconded by Commissioner Getty, that <br />Resolution No. 1767 approving the negative declaration be adopted. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Geppert, Getty, Wilson and Chairman Doherty <br />NOES: Commissioner Jamieson <br />ABSENT: None <br />It was moved by Commissioner Geppert and seconded by Commissioner Getty that <br />Resolution No. 1768 recommending approval of GP-79-11, application of Ken Gooch <br />and John Caroline for a general plan amendment to change the land use designation of <br />a 5 acre site located between the Southern Pacif is Railroad tracks and I-680 <br />immediately north of Happy Valley Road from "General and Limited Industrial" to <br />"Commercial and Offices". <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />Commissioners Geppert, Getty, Wilson and Chairman Doherty <br />Commissioner Jamieson <br />None <br />RZ-79-12, Ernest Pestana <br />Application to prezone a 35 acre site located between the Rose Pointe subdivision and <br />Happy Valley Road immediately westerly of Amber Lane to the R-1-20,000 District. <br />A negative declaration of environmental impacts will also be considered. <br />A~Ir. Harris presented the staff report dated July 26, 1979 regarding this matter. <br />Commissioner Geppert questioned the total number of cars that would be generated <br />from this application and added that he felt the number would be higher than stated <br />-3- <br /> <br />
