MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />July 26, 1979 <br />Pleasanton Fairgrounds <br />7:30 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman <br />Gregg Doherty. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Ken Geppert, Joyce Getty, Bill Jamieson, DeWitt Wilson <br />and Chairman Gregg Doherty. <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development; <br />Walt Schaumburg, Associate Civil Engineer, Doris George, Secretary <br />Council Members Present: Frank Brandes, Jr., Mayor, acting City Council Liaison <br />Member. He entered the meeting at 9:30pm. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />No Minutes were presented for approval. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />No one addressed the Commission. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris requested that item 5b (GP-79-8) application of Harris Realty Company, <br />be continued until after completion of the Downtown Study which is estimated to be <br />finished and distributed by August 15, 1979. The Commission concurred. <br />Mr. Harris stated the applicant had requested that item 6c (RZ-79-13), application of <br />Thomas Jorgensen be continued to the September meeting. The Commission concurred. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Jamieson requested that a vicinity map be included with the staff <br />reports to give the Commissioners a better prospective of the property involved. <br />Commissioner Getty requested the Commissioners be furnished with a current allowable <br />use list. <br />Chairman Doherty again requested an aerial survey-map be supplied to each of the <br />Commission Members. Mr. Harris stated he would investigate this matter further. <br />Chairman Doherty polled the audience to determine how many people were present for <br />each item so that he could rearrange the agenda in the order of number of participants <br />interested in each item. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />GP-79--11, Ken Gooch & John Caroline <br />Application for a General Plan amendment to change the land use designation of a 5 <br />acre site located between the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks and I-680 immediately <br />north of Happy Valley Road from "General and Limited Industrial" to "Commercial and <br />Offices". Zoning for the property is I-P (Industrial Park) District. A negative <br />declaration of environmental impacts will also be considered. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report dated July 26, 1979 regarding this matter and <br />indicated where this property was located on the General Plan Map. <br />-1- <br />
