Chairperson Wilson stated with regard to affordable housing density
of 8 units per acre is not high and he doesn't envision the City of
Pleasanton allowing at least 8 units per acre for mobile homes and
that Mr. Madden has 25 units to the acre.
Chairperson Wilson addressed the Policy Statement No. 1. He stated that
400 of future units built would have to be multi-family to come to
the overall City figure of 25o multiple.
Chairperson Wilson stated he would like to see 300 units exempted from
RAP as part of this element. Mr. Harris stated that specifics of
this type could be considered in the RAP ordinance.
It was mooed that the balance of the discussion would be considered
at the Fairgrounds, Wednesday, July 16, 1980, at 7:30pm.
Mr. Harris stated the Council requests that the Planning Commission
consider whether or not the Commission should be increased in size.
The Planning Commission voted unanimously to keep the Planning Com-
mission membership to five (Vote: 4-0, Doherty absent). The concensus
of opinion was that a larger board would be more difficult to manage.
Sound Wall - Stoneridge Overcrossing: In order to comply with a
mitigating measure of the negative declaration prepared for the
Stoneridge Overcrossing a sound wall must be erected along Stoneridge
Drive abutting the residences on the south side of that street west
of Hopyard Road. The Commission reviewed materials and colors of the
proposed wall. Mr. Harris stated the wall would be 8 ft. high and
property fences would be removed if permitted by the owners. The
Commissioners concurred that the design shown was acceptable.
TENTATIVE MAPS
There were none.
COMMUNICATIONS
There were none.
REFERRALS FROM ALAMEDA COUNTY
Parcel Maps 3310 and 3311
Mr. Harris presented a staff report covering two tentative parcel maps
for the Planning Commission's review and comment. These maps pertain
to two contiguous parcels totalling approximately 10 acres located
on the west side of Foothill Road approximately 700 ft. south of
Santos Ranch Road. The proposal is to subdivide each of these parcels
into four lots (a total of 8 lots) ranging in size from 1.15 acres
to 1.53 acres. The properties in question are quite steep averaging
over 20g slope. Access to the property would be via two steeply
sloping access easements originating at one point on Foothill Road.
The subject properties are both in an area shown on the Pleasanton
General Plan as Open Space for Public Health and Safety because of
the steep terrain.
-10-
