Mr. Burkhardt then introduced David Capron of Daon. He described the
uses anticipated. Mr. Lynn McVickar, Pacific Urban Design was also
introduced as the architect for the development.
Bill Christenson, 7979 Hillsboro, President of the Stoneridge Homeowners
Association, spoke concerning Items 1, 2 and 3 of the recommendations.
He asked what lands have been put aside for the cloverleaf for the inter-
change. Mr. Capron said the upper right-hand corner would fit within
that area as no buildings have been planned for this portion of the site.
He further said that this area is not a proper one for affordable housing
and asked that the residential section be entirely eliminated from the
Stoneson parcel.
Commissioner Doherty asked for a definition of affordable housing.
Mr. Christenson said that they are talking about $60,000 for 600/800
sq. ft. residences.
Dick Wenzel of BART spoke. He stated he concurs with the staff recom-
mendation concerning Item No. 20 and asked that it be deleted from
recommendation of approval. He explained requests have been made for
grant funds for the current alignment as shown on the General Plan
and did not want the funds jeopardized if at all possible with the
proposed change. He said the BART location on the east side of the
Mall currently floats and is not a fixed site per se.
Commissioner Doherty asked if realistically we would have BART in the
area by the year 2000. He asked that BART keep in mind that a station
might not even go in the area.
Mr. Allen, Vice President, BART, addressed the Commission. He said that
the citizens of Livermore and Pleasanton voted 80~ in favor of having
BART extended to the area.
Bruce Bird, 3538 Dickens Court, asked about the Prudential land and
proposal.
Mr. Harris explained that the uses wouldn't be any different than they
are now but it would allow the developer more flexibility in where he
places the uses on the property.
Yvan Albert of the General Plan Review Committee spoke. He said he
was perplexed by the outcome of their recommendations concerning the
percentage of multiples to single-family residential. He said it was
not the intent of the Committee to change the 25/75$ multiple to single-
family residential but to achieve it.
-6-
_._ _. _ _ _ _ . _. .t..,__...._.. _ ... ~ .. __„ _ .. _, _ ._ _ __ _T.. , ___ .
