MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
September 14, 1983
Page 10
Commissioner Lindsey felt the developers had made an attempt
to follow the original concept. He stated this is an attractive
development and he, personally, liked the design of the structures.
Commissioner Doherty stated that perhaps the Planning Commission
is spoiled with elaborate presentations, but one could hardly
read the information on the plans. He stated there were no
color renderings nor models presented for the Commission and
audience to look at. He said this is a first-class project
and should have a first-class presentation.
A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by Commissioner
Doherty to recommend approval of case PUD-80-16-1D, subject
to the conditions shown on the staff report of 9/14/83.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey
and Wilson
NOES: Chairman Jamieson
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2353 was entered and adopted recommending approval
of case PUD-80-16-1D as motioned.
Commissioner Lindsey reiterated concerns about the plans and
presentation. Mr. Harris stated clarity of plans is always
a problem - if you get large plans, they won't fit into the
packet and files and when you get small ones sometimes they
are difficult to read. Commissioner Lindsey stated the small
ones are fine for the packet but would like to see large plans
displayed. Chairman Jamieson disagreed with Commissioner
Lindsey on this. Mr. Harris stated the staff can require full
scale plans if the Commission so desires.
Proposed Newspaper Dispenser Ordinance
Assistant City Attorney, Brian Swift, presented the staff
report and recommendtions.
The public hearing was opened.
Nel Martin, The Valley Times, 126 Spring Street, spoke. She
stated she has been out of town the last three days but they
have worked very closely with staff and feel this is an ordinance
they can live with. He said they will do their best to cooperate.
Judy Mayhew, President of the Downtown Association, spoke
in favor of the proposed ordinance. She inquired about various
sections of the proposed ordinance and Mr. Swift explained.
Commissioner Getty then stated the only four legged intersection
in the core area is at Rose/Neal/Main Street. Mr. Swift said
this location must not be too good because theere are no modules
at this location now.
_~ ..__. __ ._.___ -10 -
