MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION 10/12/83 Page 4 Renee Rice, 3981 Vineyard Avenue, has been in Pleasanton for 15 years. She wanted to see the quaint beauty retained. Realistically, however, one must realize that the land zoned for business park development will not be maintained as cow pastures. She felt Pleasanton was quite fortunate to have a clean industrial park come to town. It would provide jobs, participation in the cultural arts and other vital items to the community. Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, recommended endorsing the rezoning of the 21 acres from L-I to Industrial Park, but had some reservationsana didn't feel it should be these particular acres. Frank Guthrey, 1447 Cedarwood Lane, felt to deny this application could deny the people the right to live and work within this town. He urged that progress not be blocked. The public hearing was closed. A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey that the negative declaration prepared for case RZ-83-7 be adopted inasmuch as project approval would have no significant adverse effect on the environment. ROLL CALL VOTE AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey and Chairman Jamieson NOES: None ABSENT: Commissioner Wilson ABSTAIN: None Res. 2364 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the negative declaration prepared for case RZ-83-7. A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey that case RZ-83-7 be recommended for approval as described in the staff report.
