MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />City Council Chambers <br />200 Bernal Avenue <br />Wednesday, November 9, 1983 <br />8:OOpm <br />The Planning Commission meeting of November 9, 1983 was called to order at <br />8:15pm by Chairman William Jamieson. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Commissioners Absent: <br />Staff Members Present: <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Gregg Doherty, Joyce Getty, Larry Lindsey, <br />DeWitt Wilson and Chairman Bill Jamieson <br />Al Arrigoni, Alternate <br />Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Robert L. Warnick, <br />Director of Public Works and Utilities; <br />Robert Okamura, Assistant City Engineer; <br />Brian W. Swift, Assistant City Attorney; <br />and Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary. <br />Dolores Bengtson was also present. <br />The Minutes of the October 26, 1983 meeting were approved as submitted with the <br />following changes: change classification to clarification in the past paragraph of <br />page 12 - page 19 ,last sentence correct typo "well aware". <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION <br />ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE AGENDA <br />Curt Altschul was prepared to speak in response to a letter of rebuttal of Commissioner <br />Getty which recently appeared in the Tri-Valley Herald. Chairman Jamieson advised <br />Mr. Altschul that a subject of this type is out of order at a Planning Commission <br />meeting and suggested Mr. Altschul redirect his comments through the media or <br />other manner. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris asked that Item 5c, case RZ-83-8, should be continued to 11/28/83. Commissioner <br />Lindsey asked if it would definitely be heard on the 28th. Mr. Harris stated they <br />have a meeting with the Chamber next week and are striving for that target. Mr. <br />Harris then indicated that Item 6e, case GP-83-5, should be continued indefinitely <br />at the request of the applicant; and that Item 6f, PUD-83-21, Vorelco/Dividend should <br />be continued to 11/28/83. Commissioner Doherty then asked if Item 5d would be <br />continued as recommended in the staff report. Mr. Harris stated that the Planning <br />Commission would have to decide the matter. The Commission concurred with the <br />continuances as presented by Mr. Harris. ,~ <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Lindsey asked the disposition of a petition which Council Member <br />Mercer had relating to a soundwall on the north side of Valley Avenue between Hopyard <br />and Santa Rita Roads. Mr. Warnick stated there was some discussion about the <br />possibility of a soundwall in conjunction with the project of Morrison Homes. <br />_.... ___ <br />___._. , <br />
