MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
November 28, 1983
Page 7
Commissioner Wilson supported the recommendation of the Park and Recreation
Commission and believes they have done a real good job. He felt that Commission
should choose whatever site they feel is necessary.
Commissioner Doherty felt a general plan change to commercial and offices would
be appropriate and believes that perhaps the zoning should be PUD-Offices for
more control. Commissioner Wilson felt that if it was stipulated for just office
use the neighborhood will still be quiet at night. He would like to make sure
the zoning is office and not commercial.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner Getty that
the mitigated negative declaration prepared for case GP-83-9 be recommended
for approval inasmuch as any potentially significant adverse effects would be
reduced to an insignificant level as a result of conditions imposed on general
plan approval.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Arrigoni, Doherty, Getty, Wilson and Chairman
Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Lindsey
Resolution No. 2398 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the mitigated
negative declaration prepared for case GP-83-9 as motioned.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Getty that
the property described in case GP-83-9 be changed from "High Density Residential"
to "Commercial and Offices" except for the parcel shown as "D" on the map attached
to the staff report which shall be designated "Open Space Parks and Recreation."
Commissioner Getty then asked before the Commission vote they consider amending
the motion to include the Planning Commission's intention to have the zoning
"PUD-Office" at the time zoning is considered. The motion was then modified
to include the Commission's intention that "PUD-Office" be the future zoning
designation and that this condition mitigates concerns expressed in Items 7
and 8 of the Initial Study.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Arrigoni,
Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
Doherty, Getty, Wilson and Chairman
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Lindsey
Resolution No. 2399 was entered and adopted recommending approval of case GP-83-9
as motioned.
-7-
