MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />City Council Chambers <br />200 Old Bernal Avenue <br />Wednesday, February 8, 1984 <br />8:OOpm <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The Planning Commission Meeting was called to order at 8:OOpm by Chairman Bill Jamieson. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Gregg Doherty, Joyce Getty, Larry Lindsey, DeWitt Wilson <br />and Chairman Bill Jamieson. Al Arrigoni, alternate, was <br />also present. <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Robert L. Warnick, Director of Public Works <br />and Utilities; Brian W. Swift, Assistant City Attorney; <br />and Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the January 25, 1984 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION <br />ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE AGENDA. <br />No one addressed this item. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris requested that 5a, PUD-83-16, Val West, Inc.; 5b, PUD-83-17, Amador Associates; <br />and GP-83-16, John and Jocelyn Perasso be continued as follows: Val West to 3/14/84 because <br />they show a public park on their plan and this matter will be first referred to the Park and <br />Recreation Commission; Amador Associates to 2/22/84 as the traffic study was just received <br />and will need to be reviewed; Perasso to 2/22/83 at the request of the applicant. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Getty stated that at the recent joint Planning Commission/City Council meeting <br />the entire report of the Industrial General Plan Review Committee was heard. She suggested <br />that a letter be written to Mr. Chandler Lee, Consultant and a separate letter to the Committee <br />thanking them for working so hard in preparing their report. She stated this was a very <br />difficult task. Commissioner Lindsey and Chairman Jamieson supported this and asked staff <br />to prepare such letters. <br />Commissioner Getty asked when the street improvements on Pico (now Bernal Avenue) would <br />be completed. Mr. Warnick stated that paving should be done by April with good weather. <br />Commissioner Getty stated her concern is that when it is dark, there are many street lights <br />out, on the east side of the street there are construction trucks and other large equipment <br />which is difficult to see. Mr. Warnick stated he would have the street lights checked out <br />and lit barricades put in. His staff will take care of this matter. <br />
