Minutes August 27, 1986 Planning Commission NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings GP-85-9, City of Pleasanton Application of the City of Pleasanton to adopt a new General Plan. The General Plan is a comprehensive land use and policy plan which guides the future development of the community. The Plan covers a 43 square mile Planning Area which lies generally between I-580, Isabel Avenue, Highway 84 and Pleasanton Ridge. The proposed General Plan designates allowable land use and densities for all properties within the 43 square mile Planning Area and establishes goals, policies, and programs within the following elements: 1. Land Use 2. Circulation 3. Housing 4. Public Safety 5. Public Facilities 6. Conservation and Open Space 7. Noise 8. Air Quality An Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is also to be considered for this application. Chairman Lindsey announced that the meeting would be conducted as follows: The public hearing will be opened on the staff report regarding policies on Land Use, Circulation, Housing Public Safety, Public Facilities, Conservation and Open Space, Noise, and Air Quality only. The Planning Commission will then have discussion on the policies. Because the time required to consider the entire General Plan proposal is unknown at this time, the Chairman will determine later in the evening whether to consider Individual Parcel Land Use Designations Pro o~ nder General Plan Alternatives this evening or to continue to September 3, 1986, 7:30pm. Chairman Lindsey asked the Commissioners if any of them had any comments to make at this time. A negative response was received. The public hearing was opened. LAND USE POLICIES Margaret Tracy, 1262 Madison Avenue, Livermore, asked to address Public Facilities. Chairman Lindsey said this subject would be considered independent of land use policies. - 2 - .__
