Minutes <br />August 27, 1986 <br />Planning Commission <br />NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />GP-85-9, City of Pleasanton <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to adopt a new General <br />Plan. The General Plan is a comprehensive land use and policy <br />plan which guides the future development of the community. The <br />Plan covers a 43 square mile Planning Area which lies generally <br />between I-580, Isabel Avenue, Highway 84 and Pleasanton Ridge. <br />The proposed General Plan designates allowable land use and <br />densities for all properties within the 43 square mile Planning <br />Area and establishes goals, policies, and programs within the <br />following elements: <br />1. Land Use <br />2. Circulation <br />3. Housing <br />4. Public Safety <br />5. Public Facilities <br />6. Conservation and Open Space <br />7. Noise <br />8. Air Quality <br />An Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is also to be considered for <br />this application. <br />Chairman Lindsey announced that the meeting would be conducted as <br />follows: The public hearing will be opened on the staff report <br />regarding policies on Land Use, Circulation, Housing Public <br />Safety, Public Facilities, Conservation and Open Space, Noise, <br />and Air Quality only. The Planning Commission will then have <br />discussion on the policies. Because the time required to <br />consider the entire General Plan proposal is unknown at this <br />time, the Chairman will determine later in the evening whether to <br />consider Individual Parcel Land Use Designations Pro o~ nder <br />General Plan Alternatives this evening or to continue to <br />September 3, 1986, 7:30pm. <br />Chairman Lindsey asked the Commissioners if any of them had any <br />comments to make at this time. A negative response was received. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />LAND USE POLICIES <br />Margaret Tracy, 1262 Madison Avenue, Livermore, asked to address <br />Public Facilities. Chairman Lindsey said this subject would be <br />considered independent of land use policies. <br />- 2 - <br />.__ <br />
