Minutes
Planning Commission
August 26, 1987
Commissioner Hoyt liked the BMW pylon sign. He felt these
dealerships need recognition. Commissioner Hoyt didn't like the
Lincoln-Mercury Sign but did like the Porsche-Audi sign. He
would like to give direction that more work be done on the
Lincoln-Mercury sign.
Commissioner Michelotti was concerned with oversignage. She
acknowledged the businesses need identification, however,
monument signs on Rosewood are done in very good taste.
A motion was made by Commissioner Hoyt, seconded by Chairman
Lindsey that the Berkey, Porsche, Audi, VW sign be approved and
that the Lincoln-Mercury sign be redesigned and submitted for
approval.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Berger, Hoyt, and Chairman Lindsey
NOES: Commissioners Michelotti and Tarver
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. PC-87-93 was entered and adopted approving Case
Z-87-352 as motioned.
Mr. Inderbitzen then asked if review of the Lincoln-Mercury Sign
would have to come back to the Planning Commission or whether it
could just be reviewed by staff. Zoning
for the property is '~S" (Study) ristrict.
Mr. Swift presented the staff report. The project was discussed
with Mr. Wiemken and Singleton this afternoon, specifically
regarding whether or not the correct land use designation is Low
Density Residential, or Medium Density Residential. Staff was
unable to verify whether or not there was an error in drafting
the maps that were sent to Council. The files are in the storage
area and they will have to be retrieved. If the property is Low
Density Residential, then the PUD could not have five lots.
Mr. Swift suggested that the public hearing be held with respect
to the five lot development plan, and then continue this item
open so that staff can research this matter.
