Mr. Swift explained that the Council had dented the application without prejudice <br />in order to allow Lhe applic~ion to go before the full Council. Therefore, the <br />application had to come Dark to the Canmission before returning to the Council. <br />Co~nrntssioner Tarver t-ated he didn't sr the ori9tnai application and he feels <br />the apprbprtate place for this is back before the Cour-cii. <br />Commissioner M1t~elotti suggested that it would be ura-ecessary tor' the a~licant <br />to go through the presentation. <br />Commissioner Hoyt concurred with the previous comments of the Commissioners. <br />Chairperson Lindsey concurred with the comments by Canmissioner Tarver but <br />also felt 1t was important to allow for public comment. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Tom St. Denr-is, 4239 Pleasanton Avenue, suggested that there was a contention <br />that this application could be considered as a commercial development. <br />Chair!f~ersvn limey clarified that the application ur-der consideration Is <br />residential. <br />Jud~r M~hew, 610 Mato Street, representing the Downtown Association, said the <br />Ovw~own Association is not taking a stand either for or against the application <br />but recommerxls delayfng a decision until the specific plan 1s completed. <br />Chairperson Lindsey asked it the Downtown Association had had the opportunity to <br />make ttiaR suggestion to the Council. Jurllr Mahew answered that they had made <br />this same suggestion to the Council. <br />Bill Aibee, 855 Main Street, said he had dust learned about this approval. Or-e of <br />his concerns is with bulldozing a historical building. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Mahern said the Commission has approved projects in the Downtown <br />area. Mr. Swift cited some examples.
