She thought some <br />other type of tree would be more pleasing than palm. <br />Commissioner Tarver said that even though palm trees are native <br />to the area, he felt something else would be more appropriate. <br />Chairman Michelotti asked Mr. Swift to investigate the concerns <br />regarding traffic from Bradley Drive. <br />Commissioner Hovingh was concerned that the architect's desire <br />for the warm look might get too hot in reality with all the <br />glass. <br />Chairman Michelotti agreed with those remarks and also felt the <br />winter winds might become abusive. <br />Mr. Munson returned to the podium and addressed the issues of <br />concern. He agreed that it is dif#icult to work on such a long <br />site, and they are trying to make it compatible with the Myers <br />Center. He explained that the height of the buildings and the <br />grillworF: was designed so that it would appear to be one <br />building instead of four. As far as length was concerned, he <br />felt people would drive from store to store rather than walk. <br />Mr. Munson stated that mechanical equipment would be screened <br />and that more than two loading docks would be unnecessary. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked what is planned for Building F. <br />Mr. Munson said some type of food service. <br />Commissioner Hovingh added that he did like the arcades between <br />the buildings. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Chairman Michelotti said this information will be taken back to <br />the applicant who will continue to work with staff. Zoning for the property is RM-40d0 <br />(Multiple-f amily Residential) District. <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of <br />Tract X988 subject to conditions of the staff report. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Keith Robinson, I~18 Zinfandel Court, Pleasanton, represented <br />the application.
