The task force includes representatives from the Housing and Parks and Recreation Commissions as well as six at-large members. The group met regularly during 2004 and 2005 and obtained consultant services to analyze processing and financing issues for the project. In early 2005, the City Council reviewed information collected by the task force and confirmed its interest in moving forward with the project. Christian Church Homes, a nonprofit housing developer, was brought on in a consultant capacity in 2006 to help guide the task force through the project scoping phase. Meetings are continuing in early 2007. The task force is considering replacing one or both of the existing developments with a larger number of units, using the current affordability levels as a minimum for any future project. Due to the scope of this project, it will likely extend beyond the term of the five-year Consolidated Plan. No resident initiatives are deemed necessary in the flue-year period. However, the City continues to work with the Pleasanton I lousing Authority on the preparation of annual Housing Authority Agency Plan update required by HUD.
