Piurlica Drive Turnarrt and Pipeline Project Environnrenta[ Checklist
6. GEOLOGYAND SOILS
Environmental Setting
The project facilities are located in an Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zone as delineated by the
California Division of Mines and Geology. A geotechnical engineering investigation report was
prepared for the project (DCM Engineering 2005) and recommendations of the report have been
incorporated into the project design and construction of the project.
Standards of Significance
For purposes of this environmental document, an impact is considered significant if the proposed
project would:
• Result in a project being built that will either introduce geologic, soils, or seismic hazard
by allowing the construction of the project on such a site without protection against those
hazards.
Less than
Potentially Significant Less than
Significant Wilh Mitigation Significant No
ISSUOS Impact Incorporated Impact Impret
Geolosy and Soils
Would the project:
a) Expose people or structures to potential
substantial adverse effects, including the risk of
loss, injury, or death involving:
i) Ruphtre of a known earthquake fault, as ~ ~ `Y
delineated on the most recent Alquist-Priolo
Earthquake Fault Zoning Map issued by the
State Geologist for the area or based on other
substantial evidence of a known fault'?
