Grants can be <br />used for the construction of railings, in- <br />stallation of grab bars, and similar moditi- <br />catiuns. <br />• Homeowner grants of up to $5,000 <br />• Tenant grants of up to $5,000 (with <br />approval from the rental property <br />owner) <br />The c~m:,uucnon of ramps and other more <br />expensive modifications can be addressed <br />for homeowners under the Rehabilitation <br />Loan Proeram. <br />i <br />i <br />>~_- <br />- _ --~~- <br />Low interest (3°io) loans are available for <br />items that exceed the grant program limits. <br />Loans are either amortized (monthly pay- <br />ments) or deferred (no payments due until <br />the home is sold or transferred) depending <br />on the borrower's income and debt. <br />Eligible repairs include: roof, gutters, <br />sewer line replacement, termite and dry rot <br />damage repair, fiirnaces, electrical/ <br />plumbing repair and replacement, kitchen <br />and bathroom upgrades, accessibility im- <br />provements, insulation, and solar electric <br />systems. <br />Mobile Home <br />Loan Program <br />Loans of up to $25,000 are available to <br />owners of mobile homes for larger repairs <br />and improvements including lifts, root re- <br />placement, bathroom repairs and dry rot <br />repairs. <br />Mobile home loans may be deferred (not <br />requiring repayment until the home is sold <br />or transferred) or may be amortized. <br />GRID .~Iternativcs provides informa- <br />tion, assistance, and finding for the in- <br />stallation of solar panels for low-income <br />households through the Housing Reha- <br />bilitation Loan Program. Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds <br />pay far rehabilitation services to facilitate <br />the installation of solar electric systems <br />on low-income owner-occupied homes in <br />Pleasanton. ~ <br />`~>J~J~?'~` <br />,1 <br />Minor Home Repair <br />Grant Program <br />'The Minor Home Repair grant program has <br />five components: <br />1) Minor Home Repair (rnax. $2,000) <br />includes water heaters, smoke detectors, <br />minor plumbing and electrical repairs <br />21 Mobile home repair (max. $5,000) <br />Includes any mobile-home repairs that <br />fall within the grant limit <br />3) Clean-Up Grant (max. $1,000) In- <br />cludes trunming trees, haul away of de- <br />bris, general clean-up of exterior <br />~l) Accessibility (max. $5,000) -- Disabil- <br />ity-related access including ramps, grab <br />bars, and other accessibility items. <br />5) Seismic (max. $2,000) -Seismic brac- <br />ing to strengthen the foundation of the <br />home. <br />
