BACKGROUND The Pimlico Drive Turnout project provides for an additional water service point from the Zone 7 Water Agency water transmission pipeline. The new water service point will tap into the existing Zone 7 water transmission line in Pimlico Drive and deliver water to the existing Tassajara Reservoir. The facility will improve system hydraulics and allow for better utilization of the Tassajara Reservoir's storage capacity. The project consists of the construction of appurtenant valves, flow meters, water piping, telemetry, vaults and a masonry building. The turnout will be located midblock of Pimlico Drive and adjacent to the I-580 freeway and includes approximately 2,700 feet of 20-inch water pipeline in Pimlico and Brockton Drives and a 10' x 16' masonry building (see map below). Environmental Assessment Environmental review for the project is covered by an Initial Study/Negative Declaration, which is attached. The design is nearing completion and the corresponding plans, Initial Study and Negative Declaration are complete and have been forwarded to the State Clearinghouse, advertised of its availability for review and comment, posted on the City's web site, and made available for review and comment in conformance with CEQA guidelines. Notices of the City Council's public hearing on this item were sent to the residents located in the project area.
