THE CITY OF
~' -•• ~"""' =~''~'' "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
j~L£~S~4NTONs
March 6, 2007
Public Works Department
TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY G8~G BUILDERS
INC. FOR DELUCCHI PARK PUBLIC RESTROOMS, PROJECT NO.
038030
SUMMARY
Construction of the Delucchi Park Public Restroom project is now complete and ready for
acceptance. The project consisted of the construction of an approximately 700 square
foot masonry restroom building and related site work, located at the southern end of
Delucchi Park, near West Angela Street.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the meeting of March
6, 2007:
1. Accept the improvements for the subject project.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project.
3. Authorize final payment to G&G Builders Inc. in the amount of $88.88.
4. Authorize payment of the retention amount of $38,479.90 to G&G Builders, Inc.,
thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion.
5. Authorize transfer of unexpended project funds in the amount of $9,855.43 to the
Downtown Specific Plan Reserve (CIP No. 028006).
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Staff estimates that a total of approximately $36,000 per year will be required in staff
and materials costs to maintain the new restroom building and its surrounding
landscape. In the coming year, staff is planning to make additional improvements to the
remaining landscaping in Delucchi Park. Staff is evaluating the material needs at this
time, and anticipates utilizing funding available in the Park Renovation Fund.
