THE CITY OF <br />-' -- ~°~° °'~=' ~~ "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PL£~AS~4NTONo <br />March 6, 2007 <br />City Manager <br />TITLE: APPOINTMENT TO THE ALAMEDA COUNTY PARATRANSIT <br />ADVISORY PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />SUMMARY <br />The Alameda County Paratransit Advisory Planning Committee (PAPCO) was <br />established by the Alameda County Transportation Authority to advise the Alameda <br />County Transportation Improvement Authority Board on distribution of Measure B funds <br />to paratransit programs and the Gap Grant program. PAPCO also provides a forum for <br />the community to discuss and make funding recommendations on services. Members <br />must be Alameda County residents and paratransit consumers. <br />Twenty-eight members are appointed by the Alameda County Supervisors, Alameda <br />County cities and transit service providers. Pleasanton's representative is Mr. Herb <br />Clayton whose first two-year has expired and who wishes to be appointed to a second <br />two-year term. Mr. Clayton has represented Pleasanton very well and the Mayor would <br />like to reappoint him to a second, two-year term. This appointment is coming to the <br />Council outside of the regular semi-annual process as Mr. Clayton is the incumbent and <br />the City did not have to solicit new applicants for this position. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Council is asked to ratify the Mayor's appointment of Mr. Clayton to a second two- <br />yearterm as Pleasanton's PAPCO representative. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no fiscal impact. <br />Approved by, <br />Nelson Fialho <br />City Manager <br />
