The roster of attendees is attached. City Council <br />member Jerry Thorne attended, as did City staff members Economic Development Director <br />Pamela Ott and Economic Development Coordinator Rebecca Perry. Guests in attendance were <br />Peter Knoedler from Regency Centers, and Pleasanton residents Kent and Alice Pryor and <br />Sheena and Kewaljet Nagral. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />No amendments were made. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Minutes from the November 16, 2006 meeting and the December 6, 2006 meeting were <br />approved as presented. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION: REGENCY CENTERS/HOME DEPOT PROJECT <br />Peter Knoedler from Regency Centers presented the proposed Pleasanton Gateway Shopping <br />Center project at the corner of Valley, Stanley and Bernal Avenues. The project was approved <br />by the Planning Commission and is moving forward for City Council approval on February 6, <br />2007. Prior to the Planning Commission's approval, the project was reviewed at two workshops <br />and a public hearing. Pamela Ott asked the committee whether they wanted to consider <br />offering a recommendation to the City Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Knoedler informed the committee that the shopping center would include a Home Depot <br />and a Longs Drug Store as well as a number of retail shops. He noted that one of the major <br />concerns expressed by community members is the traffic impact, and reported that an <br />extensive traffic survey was completed. Mr. Knoedler indicated Regency Centers feels this <br />shopping center will be a great addition to the City and will add economic vitality with the <br />addition of 500-600 new jobs and tax revenue estimated at $800,000-$1 million. <br /> <br />Chris Grant asked if there were any tenants already committed to leasing space. Mr. Knoedler <br />responded that currently only Home Depot and Longs Drugs have committed, noting that <br />Regency Centers will begin to lease the remaining retail sites when the project is given final <br />approval by the City Council. Mr. Grant stated that he is not familiar enough with the project, <br />and that this meeting's visual walk-through didn't provide enough information to make a <br />
