5 <br />THE CITY OF <br />L.'E~S~NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />P <br />February 20, 2007 <br />Mayor <br />TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE MAYOR'S APPOINTMENT TO <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO FILLED AN UNEXPIRED TERM <br />ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2010 <br />SUMMARY <br />The Mayor received a notice of resignation from a Planning Commissioner appointed by <br />the City Council at its meeting of January 16, 2007. Current City policy stipulates that <br />commission appointments are made in April and September of each year. Considering <br />the Mayor and City Council have just recently completed the commission appointment <br />process and considering there are qualified applicants available to fill the vacancy <br />caused by the above referenced resignation. The Council at its February 6, 2007 <br />meeting authorized the Mayor to make an appointment from the list of available <br />candidates. After reviewing the list of qualified applicants, the Mayor desires to appoint <br />Kathy Narum to fill the unexpired term. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a Resolution ratifying the Mayor's appointment of Kathy Narum to the Planning <br />Commission to fill an unexpired term ending September 30, 2010. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no financial impact as a result of this action. <br />
