CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-66 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION <br />PROGRAM SCHEDULED FOR THE TRI-VAT~Y AREA <br />ON MAY 5, 1990 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program is a <br />program where a city or other governmental entity, <br />or a group of them, establish a site where their <br />citizenry can bring household hazardous waste for <br />disposal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in June 1987, the three Tri-Valley cities conducted <br />a joint Household Hazardous Waste Collection day as <br />part of an ABAG sponsored pilot program and since <br />that time no further days have been sponsored in <br />the area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of March 20, 1990, the City Council <br />received a staff report (SR 90:125) from the <br />Interim Fire Chief regarding participation in a <br />Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program <br />scheduled for May 5, 1990; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> Authorizes the City Manager to execute the <br />contract with Chemical Waste Management Company for <br />disposal of the hazardous waste on collection day. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br /> Authorizes the appropriation of funds from the <br />General Fund to cover Pleasanton's share of the <br />variable collection day costs. <br /> <br />Section 3: <br /> <br /> Authorizes the appropriation of approximately <br />$29,208 to cover the total cost of the program set <br />up. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
