Many of the strategies included in the plan support more than one goal, as they function
cooperatively to ensure that Pleasanton remains economically competitive. Notable
also, is that while the strategic plan includes traditional economic development activities
such as business retention and recruitment programs, it also incorporates initiatives that
involve many of the City's departments to address the broader goal of maintaining
Pleasanton's high quality of life for both residential and business citizens.
As presented, the Economic Development Strategic Plan is a reflection of the EVC's
perspectives as a stakeholder group appointed to represent the interests of our
business community. This plan is a dynamic document that will change over time to
support the Council's and the community's priorities. As well, the plan is a blueprint
offering suggested strategies that are intended to coalesce with Council policies; as
policies change over time so, too, will the strategic plan be updated.
Upon adoption of the strategic plan the EVC, guided by staff, will develop an
implementation matrix to ensure that strategies included in the plan are addressed and
completed.
'd by: Fiscal Review: Appro d by:
Ott David P.
