In <br />2005, this process was modified slightly to focus on developing an annual work plan designed to inform <br />the community of the Council's "shared vision" and to provide the City Manager with the policy <br />direction needed to direct City resources including preparation of the annual budget. Attached for your <br />review is the Draft City Council Work Plan for 2007-2008 that will be used for the Council's priority <br />setting workshop scheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Center. The <br />document is prepared to present the following information: <br /> <br />An update regarding the progress or completion ofthe current Work Plan's projects/programs <br />(Printed in red) <br /> <br />Potential new projects/programs for the Council to consider as part of the 2007-2008 Work Plan <br />(Printed in yellow) <br /> <br />In indication ofthose projects/programs on the current Work Plan that have not yet begun (Printed <br />in Black) <br /> <br />Ranking of all projects/programs by individual City Councilmembers (Printed in multi-color) <br /> <br />Also attached is a summary of responses received during the past few months from City Commissions <br />reflecting their comments on the current Work Plan. While individual councilmembers have already <br />ranked these projects, the comments from the Economic Vitality Committee were not included in the <br />original ranking sheet. As a result, please rank the EVC's projects and forward to Mary Lu Campbell <br />prior to the workshop. <br /> <br />The scheduled workshop will serve two primary purposes: <br /> <br />Provide an opportunity for the public to comment on any project/program contemplated for <br />inclusion in the updated Work Plan. <br /> <br />Develop a combined Council ranking for projects/programs to determine which will remain on the <br />final Work Plan. Based on previous City Council priority setting sessions, only those <br />projects/programs identified as a priority by the majority of the Council will be retained. Also, this <br />
