Our family has been involved in Pleasanton girls' basketball for
many years now and we've know that there are not enough quality gyms available
during the basketball season. A quality gym has enough space for a full wooden
floor court, proper backboards and space around the court to keep players safe
and allow spectators to get in and out during a game.

Beyond the eyo league and PYB, I know that club teams who'd like to practice in
Pleasanton have been forced to move to Alameda and Walnut Creek. Because of this
we co~nute twice a week to other cities for basketball practice. Adding a CYO gym
reliev(~s the pressure on other Pleasanton gyms.

The proposed location for the gym seems to be a really good choice. The property
is jus1: off the main road and cars are not driving through neighborhood streets.
A typical game/practice might see just 20 or so cars arrive/depart within a
IS-minute window -- far less than the traffic associated with church services on
the saIne property. As games are indoors, noise for surrounding homes should not
be a real issue.

Yours Truly,

David Lamont

Cheap talk?
Check out Yahoo!
