over necessary for take out food service. Currently, the restaurant does a limited amount of take-
out food business on a customer request basis.

In the attached letter, Exhibit 1, Bill Laube of the Pleasanton Hotel requested that the Traffic
Engineering Division review this location for establishment of a 20 minute parking space.
Traffic Engineering contacted the Pleasanton Downtown Association to notify them of this
request. The Pleasanton Downtown Association approved the concept of a 20 minute parking
space in front of the Pleasanton Hotel.

Twenty minute parking spaces are distributed fairly consistently among the 2 hour parking stalls
and provide the ability to make quick transactions. There are not any 20 minute zones to the
north of Ray Street, and the conversion to a 20 minute stall would provide the needed turnover
requested near the Pleasanton Hotel. These parking spaces are available to the public and do not
contain any restrictions beyond the 20 minute time period.

Staff recommends installation of the 20 minute parking zone in front of the Pleasanton Hotel.

FISCAL IMPACT

Installation of one pole and parking limitation sign would cost $100. Annualized maintenance
costs are estimated at $10 per year.

Respectfully Submitted,

f.2(0J-

Rob Wilson
Director of Public Works

~

David P.
