CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-226 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CAr~NG FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO <br />FILL VACANT CITY COUNCIL SEAT <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />pursuant to California Government Code §36512, the City <br />Council may call a Special Election to fill a vacancy on <br />the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />City Councilmember Ben Tarver has been elected to the <br />office of Mayor, leaving two years on his term as City <br />Councilmember; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the next regularly scheduled election date is March 2, <br />1993; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Pursuant to Government Code §36512, the City Council <br /> hereby calls for a special election to be held on <br /> March 2, 1993 to fill th~ remaining two year City Council <br /> term of Ben Tarver. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Council hereby requests the Alameda County <br /> Board of Supervisors to order this election be conducted <br /> by Alameda County on March 2, 1993, in conjunction with <br /> any other regularly scheduled and special elections being <br /> held within the County on that date, with the actual <br /> costs for said election to be reimbursed by the City to <br /> the County. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 4, 1992 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Mohr, Pico, <br /> None <br /> None <br /> None <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Michael H.
