CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-215 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FEDERAL LEGISLATION <br />PROHIBITING UNFUNDED FEDERAL MANDATES ON LOCAL <br />AND STATE GOVERNMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />federal legislation often requires special reporting <br />requirements or programs of local and state governments, <br />including the City of Pleasanton; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />these reports and programs are often a substantial and <br />unanticipated expense to local and state governments, <br />reducing available funds for existing programs and <br />services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />these expenses place an unfair burden on local and state <br />governments and the citizens that they serve; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OFT HE CITY OF PLEASANTONRESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> The City Council hereby supports the efforts of United <br />States Representative Gary Condit to enact legislation <br />ending unfunded federal mandates on local and state <br />governments. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 17, 1992 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />- Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Michael H.
