<br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-074 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />RECITING THE FACT OF THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 7, 2006 DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY <br />LAW <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Pleasanton, <br />California, Tuesday, November 7,2006, as required by law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in the time, form and manner as provided by law; <br />that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all <br />respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and <br />the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections <br />Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law cities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 06-040 and 06-041 adopted June 6, 2006, the County <br />Election Department canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results, which results <br />are attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A". <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the total number of ballots cast in said election was 24,978 which represent <br />68.92% of Pleasanton's eligible voters. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the names of the persons voted for at the election for Members of the City <br />Council were as follows: <br /> <br />Office of Mayor: Jennifer Hosterman <br />Steve Brozosky <br /> <br />Office of Council Member: Cheryl Cook-Kallio <br />Dan Faustina <br />Brian Arkin <br />Jerry Thorne <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That the Measure voted for at the election is as follows: <br />Shall the Bernal Property Phase II Land Use Plan, comprised of the "grand park" design concept, as <br />adopted by the City Council, be ratified? <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in <br />the City to each of the persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were <br />candidates, and the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given for the <br />Measure is as listed in "Exhibit A" attached. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. That the City Council does declare and determine that Jennifer Hosterman was <br />elected as Mayor for the full term of two years; Cheryl Cook-Kallio elected as a member of the City <br />Council for a full term of four years; Jerry Thorne was elected as a member of the City Council for a full <br />term of four years. <br />
