RESOLUTION NO. 06-074 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006 DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Pleasanton, California, Tuesday, November 7,2006, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in the time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 06-040 and 06-041 adopted June 6, 2006, the County Election Department canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results, which results are attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A". NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the total number of ballots cast in said election was 24,978 which represent 68.92% of Pleasanton's eligible voters. SECTION 2. That the names of the persons voted for at the election for Members of the City Council were as follows: Office of Mayor: Jennifer Hosterman Steve Brozosky Office of Council Member: Cheryl Cook-Kallio Dan Faustina Brian Arkin Jerry Thorne SECTION 3. That the Measure voted for at the election is as follows: Shall the Bernal Property Phase II Land Use Plan, comprised of the "grand park" design concept, as adopted by the City Council, be ratified? SECTION 4. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates, and the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given for the Measure is as listed in "Exhibit A" attached. SECTION 5. That the City Council does declare and determine that Jennifer Hosterman was elected as Mayor for the full term of two years; Cheryl Cook-Kallio elected as a member of the City Council for a full term of four years; Jerry Thorne was elected as a member of the City Council for a full term of four years.
