Section 6. Leaves <br />6.1(1) <br />6.1(2) <br />6.1(3) <br />Observed Holidays. <br />The holidays to be observed by management and <br />confidential employees, except fire battalion chiefs, are <br />as follows: <br />"Veteran's Day" <br />H. Thanksgiving Day <br />I. The Friday following Thanksgiving Day <br />J. Christmas Eve Day <br />K. December 25th <br />January, known as "Martin <br />February, known as <br />D. The last Monday in May, known as "Memorial Day" <br />E. July 4th <br />F. The first Monday in September, known as "Labor Day" <br />G. The eleventh day of the eleventh month, known as <br />A. January 1st <br />B. The third Monday in <br />Luther King Day" <br />C. The third Monday in <br />"Washington Day" <br />Holidays Fallincz on Saturday, Sunday or Scheduled Day Off <br />When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday <br />shall be observed; when a holiday falls on a Saturday, <br />the preceding Friday shall be observed; except that if <br />Christmas Eve day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the <br />preceding Friday shall be observed. If a holiday falls <br />on an employee's scheduled time off, compensatory time <br />off shall be granted or, at the option of the employee, <br />compensation at a rate of pay equal to his regular rate <br />of pay for the holiday period shall be granted. <br />Floating Holidays <br />Each management employee, except fire battalion chiefs, <br />shall be credited with three (3) floating holidays on <br />July 1st of each year. Management and confidential <br />employees hired full-time after July 1st, but on or <br />before December 31st, of any given year shall be credited <br />with one (1) floating holiday. Floating holidays must be <br />observed in the fiscal year in which they are credited. <br />During the term of this compensation plan the crediting <br />of floating holidays shall be changed from a fiscal year <br />to a calendar year. In so doing, eligible management and <br />confidential employees shall be credited with one and <br />one-half floating holidays on July 1, 1992. Thereafter, <br />eligible management and confidential employees shall be <br />- 8 - <br />
