CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-159 <br />RESOLUTION PERMITTING CITY OF PLEASANTON TO <br />JOIN IN AMIC[TS BRIEF <br />WHEREAS, there is pending in the California Supreme Court of the <br />State of California, the matter of Peot~le v. Weiner, et <br />al., in which important issues concerning adult <br />entertainment establishments will be decided; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney's office of San Diego has written the <br />amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief in which other <br />cities may join at no cost; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney has recommended to the City Council <br />that the City of Pleasanton be added to the amicus curiae <br />brief, at no out-of-pocket expense to the local <br />taxpayers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby approves joinder of the City of <br />Pleasanton in the amicus curiae brief in the case of <br />People v. Weiner, et al. , pending in the Supreme Court of <br />the State of California, such participation to be at no <br />out-of-pocket expense to the City of Pleasanton. <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br />upon its passage and adoption. <br />I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1991, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and <br />Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />APP OVED AS TO FORM: <br />Michael H.
