PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-89-108
RESOLUTION DENYING APPROVAL OF CASE GP-89-b AND RZ-89-
16, THE APPLICATIONS OF JAMES AND SUSAN MCDOWELL
WHEREAS, James and Susan McDowell has applied to amend the Land
Use Element designation of the General Plan for the
approximately 4.37 acre site located at 2503 Vineyard
Avenue from "Agriculture and Grazing" to the "low
Density Residential" designation and to prezone the same
property to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) - Low
Density Residential District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of November 29,
1989, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the
City staff concerning these applications; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the subject
property is an integral part of the Vineyard Avenue
Corridor and should be planned in a comprehensive, not a
piecemeal, fashion. Redesignation of the subject
property from Open Space to Residential prior to such
cumulative land use, traffic, and infrastructure studies
of the entire Vineyard Avenue Corridor and the
completion of the Fertile Crescent Study would be
premature.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Denies approval of Case GP-89-6 and RZ-89-16, the
applications of James and Susan McDowell to amend the
Land Use Element designation of the General Plan for the
approximately 4.37 acre site located at 2503 Vineyard
Avenue from "Agriculture and Grazing" to the "low
Density Residential" designation and to prezone the
same property to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) -
Low Density Residential District; and
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
