PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-90-49
RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE REVISED TRAFFIC
ASSUMPTIONS FOR 1990
WHEREAS, AM peak hour trip generation rates for "office"
buildings have been updated by driveway studies, TSM
survey and Building Occupancy Study; and
WHEREAS, the City has continued to refine the "Standard
Assumptions" which were initially adopted in 1984. Each
year "Existing Traffic," "Generated Traffic" is added
and the total volumes are compared against "Available
Capacity" in reviewing the new project proposals; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of May 23, 1990,
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this matter; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found the rate of 1.33
consistent with the PM rate adopted last year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recommends adoption of the presumption that the North
Pleasanton trip production and building occupancy
excluding AT&T headquarters is more typical of what to
expect for trip generation. (This averaged 348 sq. ft.
per employee) and uses the Trip information taken from
the 1987 TSM Surveys and factors it for arrival-
departure, vehicle occupancy and employees not leaving
from work. This data produces an AM peak hour trip rate
of 1.33 trips per 1,000 sq. ft. of occupied floor space.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON THE 23RD DAY OF MAY 1990 BY THE
FOLLOWING VOTE:
AYES: Commissioners Horan, Hovingh, Mahern, McGuirk,
Michelotti, and Chairman Berger
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
