CALLAHAN~ JR_ FOR A GENERAL PT-a7a AMENDMENT WHEREAS, Joseph W_ Callahan Jr_ has applied for a General Pian amendment to amend the Land Use Element designation of the General Plan from ••General and Limited Industr ial•• to ••High Density Res idential•• ~ and WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 23 1990 the Planning Commission recommended approval of the Negative Declaration prepared for Case GP-90-2 after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City Staff ~ and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission believes that inf ill sites such as this should be considered for residential use whenever poss ible_ In generals smaller infill sites surrounded by residential uses provide good opportunities for adding to the City's housing supply without disrupting the overall relationship of jobs and housing contemplated in the General Plan _ The subj ect site appears to provide such an opportunity with no more site constraints than exist on most residential parcels in Pleasanton _ NOW ~ THEREFORE ~ THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF P_LEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS Section 1 c Recommends approval of the application of Joseph W _ Callahan ~ Jr _ to amend the Land Use Element designation of the General Plan from ••Gen eral and Limited Industr ial^ to ••High Density Residential for the 4 _ 26 acre site located at the southwest corner of Rheem Drive and Oakland Avenue _ Section 2 o This resolution she 11 become affect ive immediately upon its passage and adoption _ THIS RESOLUT=ON PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMM=SSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ON THE 23RD DAY OF MAY 1990 BY THE FOLLOWSNG VOTE AYES: Commissioners Horan, Hovingh~ Mahern~ McGuirk, Miche loth ~ and Chairman Berger NOES .
