<br />/ <br /> <br /> <br />6D <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />pLfASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />December 5, 2006 <br />Assistant City Manager <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTERS 17.04 AND 17.44 <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO RESIDENTIAL <br />CONDOMINIUM CONVERSIONS <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the City Council introduce an ordinance approving <br />amendments to Chapters 17.04 Residential Condominium Conversions <br />(Attachment A) and 17.44 Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance (Attachment B), <br />of the Municipal Code as they relate to residential condominium <br />conversions. Staff also recommends retaining the option of meeting <br />affordability requirements with moderate income units. <br /> <br />HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Approve amendments to Chapters 17.04 and 17.44 of the Municipal Code <br />with the option of meeting affordability requirements with very low, low <br />and/or moderate-income units. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Approve amendments to Chapters 17.04 and 17.44 of the Municipal Code <br />requiring affordability to be met with onlv very low and low income units. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />This provides a discussion and analysis of recommended changes to the <br />City's Residential Condominium Conversions Ordinance (Chapter 17.04) <br />and the City's Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 17.44). The <br />information is being presented to allow the Council to decide on any needed <br />changes to the existing ordinances to meet community needs. The Council <br />is not required to take action on this matter and the ordinances may remain <br />in their current form.
