Typically, communities turn toward
increased recreational and cultural activities as the cities'
budgets and household incomes grow.
Pleasanton is becoming more aware of the value of a richer
cultural environment for its citizens to enjoy.
As stated by the National Endowment for the Arts, our need to
make, experience, and comprehend art is as profound as the
need to speak. It is through art that we can understand
ourselves and our potential . · . and it is through art that
we will be understood and remembered by those who will come
after us.
Therefore, we encourage the City to accept a responsibility
for expanding our experience with visual art.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to promote the acquisition of works of public
art in Pleasanton that will foster creativity, engender civic
pride, encourage a sense of community, and enrich the lives ~f
our citizens.
