CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 92-163 RESOLUTION ENDORSING ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT SERVICE AUTHORITY FOR ALAMEDA COUNTY WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 4114 became law as of January 1, 1991; and WHEREAS, the bill allows for the establishment of a county-wide authority to abate abandoned vehicles; and WHEREAS, such vehicles constitute a public nuisance; and WHEREAS, under provisions of AB 4114 the majority of the cities representing the majority of the incorporated population and the County, may establish the Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Service Authority to be the county-wide abandoned vehicle abatement authority; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Service Authority shall create an Alameda County Abandoned VehiCle Abatement Program consistent with State of~ California guidelines; and WHEREAS, the statute requires that the majority of the cities representing the majority of the incorporated population, and the County, approve and endorse the program; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton believes that the program will benefit the City of Pleasanton and the entire County; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OFT HE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council hereby finds a need for an Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program, endorses the establishment of the Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Service Authority and the Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program, supports imposition of a $1.00 per vehicle registration surcharge for vehicles registered in the County of Alameda and appoints the City Manager, or her designee, as Pleasanton's representative to the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Service Authority.
