CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-115 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUEL EFFICIENT TRAFFIC <br />SIGNAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton recognizes that it is in the <br />interest of the national economy to promote the <br />conservation of energy resources as it reduces our <br />nation's dependence on costly foreign oil; and <br /> <br />fuel efficient traffic signal management by the City of <br />Pleasanton will provide benefits to the local community <br />in the form of improved traffic flow, reduced fuel <br />consumption, reduced vehicle operating costs, reduced air <br />pollutant emissions, and improved safety due to smoother <br />flow; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />funds have been established and are available through the <br />California Department of Transportation for grants to <br />local governments for efficient traffic signal management <br />projects; and <br /> <br />the city Council finds this FETSM project to be <br />categorically exempt from the requirements of CEQA as <br />approval of the project has no significant adverse <br />environmental impacts on the environment. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> Authorizes the submittal of an application to the <br />California Department of Transportation for a Fuel <br />Efficient Traffic Signal Management grant and the Public <br />Works Director of the City of Pleasanton is hereby <br />authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the <br />city of Pleasanton all necessary applications, contracts, <br />and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes <br />specified in this resolution. <br /> <br /> <br />
