"I'
..
pLEASANTONo

Housing Commission
Minutes
[EXCERPT]

City Council Chambers, 200 Old Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, CA

December 15, 2005
7:00 p.m.

8. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS

B. Approval of Guidelines for Future Senior Housing Developmen

Scott Erickson gave an overview of this item. He indicated that the guidelines were
mailed out to approximately 20 contacts. Staff received back many useful and thoughtful
comments. Staff went through the comments and tried to integrate them wherever
possible. There are two versions of the guidelines for the Commission's review. One
version displays the original text and the proposed changes that have been added. The
other is a clean copy of what the guidelines would look like with the proposed changes.

Vice Chairperson Harris asked if any non-written comments were received. Mr. Erickson
replied that all comments have been summarized in the written report.

Mr. Erickson noted that Jack Dove was not present at tonight's meeting. The
Commission discussed some of the comments that he had made at previous meetings.
Vice Chairperson Harris recalled that Mr. Dove had specifically expressed a priority for
shelving near the doors of the units on the exterior. Mr. Erickson replied that the
provision in section 4.1 (h) states that there should be a small shelf at each front door and
that this was intended to mean on the exterior of the units. Pam Geiger, Ridge View
Commons, helped to clarify the issue. This issue was discussed by the Commission.

It was moved by Vice Chairperson Harris, seconded by Commissioner Whisnand, to
recommend approval of the guidelines to the City Council. Motion carried
unanimously.

Page - 1 -
