CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 92-97 RESOLUTION PERMITTING CITY OF PTmASANTON TO JOIN IN AMICUS BRIEF WHEREAS, there is an appeal pending in San Bernardino County Sheriff's EmDloyees Benefit Association v. Board of Retirement, San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association, in which important issues concerning public agency retirement plans will be decided; and WHEREAS, the San Diego City Attorney's Office is writing the amici curiae (friends of the court) brief in which other cities may join at no cost; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has recommended to the city Council that the City of Pleasanton be added to the amici curiae brief, at no out-of-pocket expense to the local taxpayers. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PT~ASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council hereby approves joinder of the City of Pleasanton in the amici curiae brief in the case of San Bernardino County Sheriff's Employees Benefit Association v. Board of Retirement, San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association, such participation to be at no out-of-pocket expense to the City of Pleasanton. Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT A MEETING HELD ON MAY 19, 1992, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None APPROVED AS TO - Michael H.
