Consideration of Participation in "Art Takes Place" Regional Public Art Proiect <br /> <br />Lynn Baer. Dublin Fine Arts Foundation - reviewed a proposal she made at the May 1,2006 Civic Arts <br />Commission meeting, requesting that the City participate in an "Art Takes Place" Regional Public Art <br />Project. The project envisions the creation of temporary public art projects in Dublin, Livermore, and <br />Pleasanton. The proposed budget for the project is $250,000, with each city requested to commit $30,000.. <br />The remaining funds are expected to be raised from private and foundation sources through the efforts of <br />the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nelson had questions regarding the $30,000 in funding from the three cities, and wondered if <br />the funds would be returned if all benchmarks were not met. Mr. Jorgensen discussed the difficulties of <br />the City of Pleasant on Finance Department in providing a check for $30,000 when services have not been <br />provided. He indicated that this was an issue that needed to be resolved. <br /> <br />Ms. Baer discussed with Commissioner Gerton Rivara how the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation planned to <br />raise the additional funds.
