<br />r <br /> <br /> <br />40 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />pLEASANTONo <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />./ <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />October 3,2006 <br />Parks and Community Services <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />AWARD OF CONTRACT TO IMAGE X FOR PRINTING SERVICES <br />ASSOCIATED WITH THE PARKS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES <br />DEPARTMENT'S QUARTERLY ACTIVITIES GUIDE <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />That the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an Agreement <br />with Image X, to provide printing services for the Parks and Community <br />Services Department's Quarterly Activities Guide. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The Parks and Community Services Department produces a quarterly <br />Activities Guide of its various programs and activities. With the expiration <br />of the current printing contract, staff recently conducted a Request for <br />Proposals (RFP) process. After formal interviews with three (3) perspective <br />firms and reference checks, staff determined that Image X of Pleasanton is <br />the most responsive company to provide Activities Guide printing services. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Parks and Community Services Department provides a variety of recreational classes, <br />preschool activities, environmental education and civic ads programs, and paratransit services. <br />It also manages and coordinates all youth and adult sports, recreation activities for <br />developmentally disabled adults, and community-wide special events. <br /> <br />The Department advertises these classes and programs in its quarterly Activities Guide, and <br />residents utilize the document to register for the wide variety of activities available. <br /> <br />As part of an effort to obtain high quality services at the most reasonable price, the Department <br />conducted a Request for Proposals (RFP) process for printing the Activities Guide.
