CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-63 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BIT.T. 2067 (FLOYD) <br /> <br />at its meeting of March 17, 1992, the City Council <br />received the report of the City Manager (SR 92:130) <br />regarding Assembly Bill 2067 (Floyd), which amends the <br />existing Police Officers Bill of Rights; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the amendments place significant restrictions on a police <br />department's ability to conduct investigations and <br />discipline police officers who engage in misconduct; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this bill is not in the public's interest in that it <br />would seriously impair a police department's ability to <br />investigate even routine incidents and would hamper <br />everyday operations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton opposes <br /> Assembly Bill 2067 (Floyd). <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON MARCH 17, 1992 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Michael H.
